Technical Security Training

  1. Course

    • A Certificate III in Technical Security program prepares an individual for a career in the installation and repair of alarms and other security system products. The program lasts for a year and includes 10 core and four elective courses.

    Methodology

    • The program is delivered through in-class study and is offered on a full- or part-time basis. Prospective students can also have their previous education and work experience assessed for advanced standing in the program.

    Curriculum

    • Topics discussed throughout the program include identifying the technical security needs of clients, developing security equipment packages and installing a variety of security equipment, including alarm, biometric, locking and electronic monitoring systems. Students learn to test installed equipment for troubleshooting purposes and to make necessary repairs to keep security equipment functioning properly.
