Certificate IV in Workplace Training

The Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment is an Australian program for individuals employed in the field of vocational education and other training workplaces. Program graduates are prepared to design and implement effective training programs and complete thorough student assessments.
  1. Certification

    • A Certificate IV in training and assessment is available in Australia through distance education and through a combination of online learning and on-campus training sessions. While all program requirements must be completed within one year, students may work at their own pace throughout the program, which generally requires between 150 and 200 hours to complete.

    Curriculum

    • Students complete seven core units and three elective units. Topics throughout the units discuss the process of designing learning programs, how to facilitate work-based learning, assessing competence and providing training using demonstrations and distance-based instruction.

    Assessments

    • Assessments are completed through a variety of evaluation tools. Students are assessed on their ability to design a learning program, implement the program in a workplace or group setting and conduct their own learning assessments. Students are also presented with questions to assess their knowledge of the industry of training and vocational education.
