The airline career pilot program at Airline Transport Professionals can be completed through a fast track of 150 days, or a self-paced schedule of up to 14 months. This ATP certificate training program, from zero flight time, includes ground instruction, nationwide cross-country flying, 11 FAA written exams, manuals and 270 hours of flight time on single- and multi-engine aircrafts. For those who already have a private pilot's license, you can opt for the 90-day fast track or self-paced course which will provide you with 185 hours of flight time. Students who complete the program through either fast track are guaranteed an instructor job for six months with Airline Transport Professionals after attending an instructor proficiency program.
Gleim Aviation offers an ATP certificate program to individuals who already have a commercial pilot certificate, instrument rating and at least an FAA third-class medical certificate. At least 1,500 hours of total flight time must be logged, including 500 hours of cross-country flight time and 100 hours of night flight time. Each student must pass a pilot knowledge test and the ATP practical flight test, each administered by an FAA examiner. Gleim Aviation also offers add-ons to your ATP certificate program which include seaplane or multi-engine courses.
The NS Aviation Flight School and Cessna Pilot Center has been instructing pilots with ATP certificate training since 1999. NS Aviation uses Piper Seneca II aircraft to train students for their required flight time to receive an ATP certificate in addition to their online computer based curriculum. They are also accredited to process M-1 Visas for international students who wish to train in the U.S and provide training to U.S. Military Veterans who are eligible for VA Education benefits.
The California Airways ATP certificate training program follows all the regulations required by the FAA for training while training pilots to deal with multiple emergency situations in a multi-engine aircraft. After completing the prerequisite 1,500 of flight time, pilots are trained for an additional 10-15 hours to complete ATP certificate training. Although ground training is not required, instructors will assign students reading material in order to be better prepared for the comprehensive oral exam, computerized test and flight test.
