Accreditation is an important factor when you consider a technical school or program. A degree or certificate from an accredited program will be accepted as proof of quality training in the field you want to enter. Augusta Tech is overseen by the State Board of the Technical College System of Georgia and is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Miller-Motte Technical College says its Columbus campus is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools, and the Augusta campus is accredited as a satellite of the Columbus campus.
Augusta Tech offers programs in five general areas. In health, programs such as an associate's degree in nursing and health care assistant are available. The business division includes programs in topics such as accounting and technical communications. Augusta Tech offers programs in information and engineering technology such as computer design drafting and computer programming. Its industrial technology programs include air conditioning technology and automotive technology, and the personal services division offers programs in cosmetology, barbering, culinary arts, and early childhood care and education.
Miller-Motte offers no degree programs at the Augusta campus, but it does offer degrees online. The programs available in Augusta are for certificates in clinical office assistant, dental assisting, health information technology, human resource management, management, medical assisting, medical billing and coding, medical laboratory technician, medical office assistant, and security and investigation.
