Wake Technical Community College dates back to 1958, when it had a charter as Wake County Industrial Education Center and started in 1963. The public two-year college operates under the North Carolina Community College System. It offers six campuses and centers: Main Campus, Northern Wake Campus, Health Science, Adult Education Center, Western Wake Campus and Public Safety Education Campus and Eastern Wakes Education Center. The institution offers diploma, certificate and associate's degrees. Some programs available include plumbing, cosmetology, computer programming, refrigeration, dental assisting, culinary technology, nursing and advertising.
Guilford Technical Community College began in 1958 as Guilford Industrial Education Center to help train the community in technical careers. The college offers four campuses: Jamestown, High Point, Aviation and Greensboro. Some programs available include auto body repair, air conditioning, carpentry, business administration, basic law enforcement, computer information technology, electronic technology and a host of other studies. The institution offers 70 certification programs and degrees.
Durham Technical Community College includes five campuses and satellite centers: orange County Center, Northern Durham Center, Orange County Skills Development Center, Corporate and Small Business Center and the Main Campus. The college offers two-year associate degrees and certificates. Classes are available in heath technology, public service, business, engineering technology, industrial technology and information system technology.
Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC) is under the North Carolina Community College System. The institution includes four campuses: Main Campus in Fayetteville, Fort Bragg Center, Spring Lake Campus and Fayetteville's Horticulture Educational Center. It offers more than 116 concentrations and majors and diplomas in paralegal and game development. In addition, FTCC students can earn certificates and associate degrees in advertising, business administration, hotel and restaurant management, computer information technology and health administration. Classes are offered in the day, night, weekend and online.
