Lorenzo de' Medici is an international institute that offers degrees and certificates in art conservation and restoration. Their main campus is in Florence, Italy but they have additional locations in Rome and Tuscania. Students apply and enter the four-year bachelor's program in fine arts. Students can then choose a major, one of which is restoration. Certificates are available in conservation and restoration for students attending for less than four years. The conservation and restoration department operates in partnership with the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage. This gives students the opportunity to gain experience with actual historical works of art.
Tindell's Restoration Schools and Studios teach restoration techniques for all kinds of art. The mediums covered in courses here include jewelry, glass, pottery, porcelain, paintings, photos, ivory and precious metals dolls. The training facility is located in Cane Ridge, Tennessee. It has an equipment room where students learn the intricacies of restoration. The classes here are open to anyone and you don't have to enroll in any programs. They also provide tools, supplies, instruction books, pamphlets and videos.
