Madisonville's own community and technical college is located inside the city at 2000 College Drive. MCC offers a variety of technical programs in fields such as: mining technology, information technology, business administration and criminal justice. Tuition fees vary, with residents paying $130 per credit hour, residents of contiguous counties paying $260 per credit hour and non-residents paying $445 per credit hour, as of January 2011. Financial aid in the form of scholarships, grants and work-study programs are available to all enrolled students. MCC is a member of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System.
Daymar College is a career-focused technical school also located in Madisonville. Daymar College offers programs in: business administration, criminal justice and medical assisting. Daymar's classes are small in size and are taught by instructors with industry-specific experience. Tuition costs are based on the level of the course being taken with level 100 to 200 courses costing $290 per quarter credit hour and level 300 to 400 courses costing $345 per quarter credit hour. A high school diploma and a recommendation for enrollment by an admissions representative are required to enroll at Daymar.
Owensboro Community and Technical College is located in Owensboro, Kentucky off Interstate 231. Ownesboro Community and Technical College is made up of three campuses spread out around the city serving over 6,000 students. Owensboro Community and Technical College offers 22 diploma and certificate programs in fields like criminal justice and information technology. Owensboro Community and Technical College is also a member of KCTCS and as such has tuition rates equal to those of MCC.
Hopkinsville Community and Technical College is located 35 miles south of Madisonville off State Route 1682. Hopkinsville Community and Technical College offers career-specific associate degrees and certification programs. Hopkinsville's 3,700 students are spread out across two campuses with the Fort Campbell campus offering eight week classes only.
