Cornell University Law School in Ithaca, New York, is one of the nation's top law programs. In 2010, "U.S. News & World Report" ranked the Cornell program No. 13 in the nation among all law schools. Students wanting to study abroad have numerous opportunities to do so. During the summer, students can embark on a five-week course of study in Paris at the Université Paris Panthéon-Sorbonne. This program offers students the opportunity to study either comparative or international law. The ongoing relationship between Cornell and the Paris institute make it possible for students to receive dual law degrees from both schools.

The University of San Diego offers its law students the opportunity to study in Paris during the summer. In addition to studies in Paris, students can also study in Moscow, Barcelona, Oxford, Dublin, London and Florence. USD is home to the Institute on International and Comparative Law. The program is designed to provide students with an opportunity to be fully immersed in the international legal context. USD students have the opportunity to pursue up to a total of 10 weeks of study in these various locations. Each student is limited as to how many weeks they can study in each place. Although courses are offered in English, students spend ample time experiencing the legal system of each location where the native language is used. Students must be well versed in the language before beginning their study abroad program.

The Tulane University School of Law offers numerous summer study abroad opportunities. Students at Tulane can study in Amsterdam, Cambridge, Berlin, Paris, Siena or the Greek Isles. Tulane is well known for its programs in international and comparative law. Summer study programs are offered in private international law, admiralty and sea law, international law and the arts, comparative law, mediation and arbitration, European Union law and several other areas of international law, including business and the EU, human rights law, criminal law and international conventions.
