Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, provides a study abroad program through several universities in Israel. The University of Haifa specializes in courses in Middle East studies, religious studies, and conflict resolution. There is an honor program in psychology. Haifa, a port city on the Mediterranean, has a cosmopolitan population and high-tech commerce, theater, art and film. Ben-Gurion University in Beer Sheva is located in the heart of the desert. Courses are offered in peace studies, desert studies, anthropology and premed. The student body is made up of students from around the world. The Hebrew University of Jerusalem was founded by luminaries including Albert Einstein, Sigmund Freud and Martin Buber. It is the highest ranking university in Israel. Students will find courses in Jewish studies, international relations, and Hebrew. Housing, excursions and medical insurance are included in the tuition fee.

The University of Miami offers a semester in the Galilee in Israel. Students take five courses for fifteen credits taught by a team of University of Miami faculty as well as Israeli scholars in the city of Karmiel. Courses include The Beginning of Rabbinic Judaism, The Beginning of Christianity and the Archaeology of the Galilee. Excursions to Jerusalem, the Golan Heights, Masada and Caesarea are available. Upon completion, students will have earned a University of Miami Judaic Studies Minor, and coursework can be used toward a Minor in Jewish Education. This program is available to qualified students from Miami University and other universities.

Esteemed New York University in New York City offers the NYU in Tel Aviv program. Students have the opportunity to select courses with faculty who are leaders in their field including politicians, recognized artists, world economists and researchers. Middle Eastern studies in areas including history, art, literature, economics and journalism are offered. Students are given a chance to learn in the classroom, on guided field trips, through supervised independent study or through an internship. Co-curricular programming is included with coursework and will take students to such destinations as the Knesset, the Israeli Parliament. Tel Aviv on the Mediterranean is an ancient port city that is Israel's economic and academic research center. Need-based and merit-based scholarships are available for the NYU in Tel Aviv program.
