World Learning is one of the oldest study abroad agencies. The nonprofit organization, formerly known as the School for International Training (SIT), has more than 75 years of experience in managing international study and outdoor adventures. More than 3,000 students per year participate in World Learning trips. Its SIT Study Abroad program offers semester and summer programs for undergraduates in more than 40 countries in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, Asia and the Pacific region. It offers comprehensive online literature on safety and health issues surrounding living abroad. Fees vary depending on the program. Students receive financial aid through their home institution's federal or state aid packages. Applications can be submitted online. There is a $50 nonrefundable application fee.

Global Learning Semesters has more than 30 years of experience in organizing study abroad for students from all over the world. It operates 50 programs on nine campuses in the United Kingdom, China, Mexico, Spain, Argentina, France and Cyprus. Students can choose to participate in single-country or multi-country programs where they travel and study in Rome, Greece, China and India over course of one semester. While fees vary depending on the program, Global Learning requires students buy medical and evacuation insurance for $200. Applications can be submitted online. For students who want to experience life in the Middle East, the Ginsburg-Ingerman Overseas Student Program offers semester, summer and yearlong programs based at Ben-Gurion University in Beer-Sheva, Israel. Students study Hebrew and other classes taught in English, participate in volunteer projects and live in dormitories with Israeli students. Applications can be completed online. There is a $55 application fee and a late application fee of $100. Scholarships are available through the Ginsburg-Ingerman Scholarship Program. Jewish students can apply for additional assistance via the MASA Israel organization.
