If you are an undergraduate student at Vanderbilt University or plan to attend Vanderbilt as an anthropology major, you may be eligible to receive the Emily Ann Bennett Plant Award. This cash stipend was developed by Plant and her family to help students that are pursuing an anthropological degree. The award can be used either to defer costs of tuition and books, or as funding for anthropological research such as a trip to the Amazon. The award's maximum amount is $3,000 and is need and merit based.

The University of Florida's Anthropology department offers a number of different scholarships for students, both undergraduate and graduate. For women with an above average undergraduate GPA, the Patricia Essenpreis Memorial Scholarship is available. The scholarship is worth $500 and is awarded annually. If you are a graduating senior with a very high GPA, apply for the Brendan O'Sullivan Award for Academic Excellence, which awards $500 annually.
Graduate students have even more scholarship opportunities, such as the John M. Goggin Memorial and the Burns-Amaya Research Award. Most notably, the Zora Neal Hurston Fellowship is available, which gives the recipient $12,000 per year for three years and includes a tuition waiver.
