LPN Schools in Middle Tennessee

With expected employment growth of 21 percent in this field by the year 2018, many prospective nurses may consider beginning their careers as licensed practical nurses (LPNs) in order to enter the workforce as quickly as possible. Degree programs can be completed in approximately one year, and continuing education options after obtaining employment are available. The state of Tennessee offers a number of schools that provide LPN training.
  1. Tennessee Technology Center

    • With multiple locations throughout the state, Tennessee Technology Center offers prospective LPNs the opportunity to earn a degree close to their homes. Class options are available during day, evening and weekend hours. Students learn skills in personal vocational relationships; pharmacology; emergency and first aid management; anatomy and physiology; diet and nutrition; medical and surgical nursing; and specialty skills in geriatrics, pediatrics, Ob/Gyn and mental health nursing. Students also participate in clinical experiences before graduation.

      Tuition costs for the practical nursing program begin at $224 for the first 40 clock hours and increase every 40 hours. Financial aid options are available.

    Four Rivers Regional Practical Nursing Program

    • Students participating in the practical nursing program at Four Rivers Regional receive both a classroom and clinical practice education to ensure that they learn the skills necessary to pursue a career in nursing. Study options are available for day, evening and weekend classes to suit each student's individual need. Courses are taught in the fields of vocational relations; anatomy and physiology; pharmacology; nursing fundamentals; nutrition and diet; administering medications; medical and surgical nursing; and basic emergency nursing.

      Tuition costs are available upon request; however the school's financial aid options cover a majority of an eligible student's costs.

    Jackson Regional

    • The practical nursing program at Jackson Regional is designed to provide students with the skills necessary to immediately pursue employment opportunities in the field. Students participate in clinical rotations in settings such as hospitals, nursing homes and medical offices. In addition, courses are taught in the fields of vocational relations; science and anatomy; IV therapy; pharmacology; administration of medications; diet and nutrition; nursing principles; and medical and surgical nursing.

      Jackson Regional provides tuition and fee costs upon request. Financial aid options are available for students who qualify.
