Four Brown Mackie College locations in Ohio grant LPN diplomas: Akron, Cincinnati, Findlay and North Canton. Each campus provides similar classroom instruction and clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing, pediatrics, obstetrics, geriatrics and pharmacology. Brown Mackie graduates will be prepared to take the National Council Licensure Examination and eventually work in a hospital, nursing home or clinic.
Chamberlain College's practical nursing program awards associate degrees. Students complete coursework online or in person at Chamberlain's Columbus campus. Clinical requirements are completed at the Columbus campus, only. The six-semester, year-round program prepares students for the National Council Licensure Examination or to continue studies in nursing.
The Miami-Jacobs Career College offers a Licensed Practical Nursing program at campuses in Dayton, Springboro and Troy. This LPN program teaches students in the areas of patient care, critical thinking, customer service, assuming accountability and responsibility, and patient care wellness. Students can apply to the program online, and financial aid is available.
The Athena Career Academy offers a practical nursing program at its campus in Toledo. interested applicants must pass an entrance exam before enrolling, but once accepted they can begin their studies immediately. The one-year program at Athena includes classroom and lab work, simulation training and a clinical practicum.
