    • Baltimore City Community College offers a three-semester practical nursing certificate program. Prerequisite courses in anatomy and physiology, microbiology and academic preparation with a grade of "C" or higher are needed for admission. This program features general education coursework in English composition and psychology alongside specialized instruction in the calculation of medications, adult health nursing, family nursing and practical nursing issues.     Sojourner-Douglass College

    • Sojourner-Douglass College offers a certificate program in practical nursing. Applicants must take a placement test of math and reading skills or take prerequisite courses in math and reading with a grade of "C" or higher. Pre-nursing courses in English, anatomy and physiology, math, psychology, computers, introductory nursing and medication calculations with a grade-point average of at least 2.5 are required for admission. Candidates must also complete an entrance exam and submit two recommendation letters from their nursing instructors. This program consists of three semesters of didactic and clinical instruction in pharmacology, health assessment, adult health nursing, multicultural nursing, pathophysiology, maternal-child nursing and a community project.
