Occupational Therapy Research Grants

Occupational therapists help clients with physical, developmental or psychological disabilities. They work with other health care providers such as psychiatrists, doctors, nurses and physical therapists. Areas in which occupational therapists provide their services include substance abuse, work-related injuries and care for the elderly. Grant awards for occupational therapy research are offered to practitioners or students.
  1. The American Occupational Therapy Foundation---AOTF

    • AOTF is based in Bethesda, Maryland. The foundation supports research and educational initiatives in the field of occupational therapy by promoting a science-driven approach to rehabilitate individuals with physical, social, mental or developmental concerns. AOTF provides more than 50 scholarships and dissertation research grants, which are provided in partnership with the National Institute of Health (NIH). Dissertation grants are awarded to occupational therapists whose research topic contributes directly to the field of occupational therapy. The research must emphasize issues such as prevention/intervention, or health services. Applicants must submit a bio-sketch along with supporting documents comprised of a research proposal, reference letter and budget.
