Thesis Research Grants

Undergraduate and graduate students may have to write a thesis to finish a degree program. A thesis is a lengthy academic paper with an argument or claim supported by original research conducted by the student. Many organizations offer grants specifically for students researching a specific thesis topic or generic research grants which could be applied toward thesis research. Funding decisions for research grants are typically made on merit.
  1. The John Carter Brown Library Fellowship Program

    • Students working on an undergraduate or graduate thesis in history or the humanities can apply to the John Carter Brown Library for one of 25 annual fellowships. Funding decisions are made on the merit of the proposal, the academic record and qualifications of the researcher and the link a project has to the resources of the library. Although the library is affiliated with Brown University, any U.S. or international researcher may apply.
