Predoctoral Research Grants

Predoctoral research grants provide funding for students doing research during the process of studying towards a doctoral degree or carrying out research for a doctoral dissertation. These grants allow the graduate student time and assistance with which to broaden her possibilities for a career or enhance her dissertation research. Students can use the opportunities that research grants provide to become better scientists and to avail themselves of resources to which they might not otherwise have access. Government agencies, private-sector companies and nonprofit organizations all offer predoctoral research grants.
