Write your first citation as you would normally. That is, write the author's last name followed by a comma and then a period. Then, write the title of the article in quotation marks followed by a period before the last quotation mark. Underline the title of the publication followed by the publication date and the page numbers. For example: Smith, John. "Origins of Names." Book of Names May 2020 57-61.
Start your next citation. Begin by adding three hyphens followed by a period at the end like this (----.) Then, in quotation marks write the title of the next article with a period at the end. Then, write the publication title again followed by publication date and page numbers. An example: ---. "What is in a Name." Book of Names May 2020 89-103
Double-check your citations to make sure they are correct. They should be in alphabetical order based on the titles of works the author wrote. Add more citations as needed following the rules laid out in step 2, having hyphens for every additional time you use the same author. Using the above examples, you should have something that looks like this: Smith, John. "Origins of Names." Book of Names May 2020 57-61 ---. "What is in a Name." Book of Names May 2020 89-103
