Our Lady of Lourdes is a school of nursing located in the southern New Jersey town of Camden. Students attending the school can earn degrees as registered nurses in three years. Students are expected to maintain GPAs of 2.5 during the first year of classes and must take prerequisite courses of Microbiology and Anatomy and Physiology I and II at Camden Community College before being admitted into the program.
Rutgers Camden University School of Nursing offers a four year nursing program or an RN to BSN program for students who currently hold licensure as registered nurses. The four year program admits 50 students annually as of 2011, with a projected increase to 75 nursing students by the 2015 to 2016 academic school year. The school also offers a school nurse certification program for students who wish to work as school nurses. The program requires the students to currently hold state nursing licenses and have bachelors' degrees and GPAs of 2.75 or higher. Students also must have completed at least 45 credit hours of general education.
Prism Career Institute has locations in the southern New Jersey towns of Cherry Hill and West Atlantic City. The school offers a nursing program where students can earn certification as licensed practical nurses. The program lasts for 15 months and students will learn to perform the many skills that are required as nursing professionals, such as taking vital signs, administering treatments and therapies on patients and changing dressings.
Atlantic Cape Community College has locations in the southern New Jersey towns of Mays Landing, Atlantic City and Cape May. The school has a registered nurses program where students can earn Associates' in Applied Science degrees upon successful completion of the courses. Students who wish to enter the program must have overall GPAs of 2.5 and be able to pass the standardized TEAS nursing exam.
