Located in Charlottesville, Virginia, the University of Virginia School of Law combined with the university's Darden School of Business offers a combined JD and MBA degree. Prospective students must be admitted to both colleges, as well as receive admission to the joint program. Students graduate four years after enrollment and will spend the first year in one school, the second year in the other school, and the third and fourth years of coursework are completed within both colleges.
Located in Nashville, Tennessee, Vanderbilt University Law School offers a joint program with the Owen Graduate School of Management so that students receive both MBA and JD degrees. Prospective students must apply to both colleges, and once accepted, they are able to complete studies within eight semesters. Students are required to attend the law school during their first year of study, the Owen Graduate School of Management during the second year, then will combine studies from both schools during their remaining two years.
The University of Texas at Austin School of Law and Graduate School of Business offer students a dual degree program so they can receive a JD and MBA degree simultaneously. First-year students enrolled at the school of law can apply to the graduate school of business; upon acceptance, they are admitted to the university's dual degree program. Students are required to complete 30 credit hours within the law school before beginning coursework within the business school. Students typically graduate within four years. As of fall 2010, dual degree students are required to complete 70 hours in the school of law, 23 hours of MBA core courses and 24 hours of MBA elective courses.
Emory University is a private school in Atlanta, Georgia. Once accepted into both the School of Law and Roberto C. Goizueta Business College, students may work toward obtaining JD and MBA degrees. While it is possible for first-year law students to apply to the business school, the university recommends prospective students to apply and receive acceptance into both schools before beginning the joint program. Students are required to enroll at the school of law during their first two semesters, the business school during the next three semesters, then they will complete the remainder of their education at the law school.

Students are required to take 79 credit hours within the Tulane University Law School and 48 credit hours within the Freeman School of Business. Prospective students must be admitted to both colleges and receive approval from the university's joint degree program committee. Tulane University's joint degree program allows students to graduate one year earlier than it would take to pursue both degrees separately.
The University of Kentucky, located in Lexington, Kentucky, offers students a dual JD and MBA degree through the College of Law and Gatton College of Business and Economics. Students enrolled in the law school may decide to enroll in the joint degree program as late as within the spring semester of their first year.
