Taft Law School offers bachelor’s, Juris Doctor and master’s degrees. There are two major kinds of Juris Doctor Programs: attorney-track for those who actually want to become lawyers, and the executive track, for students who don’t. Taft also has master of law programs, with concentrations in taxation and American jurisprudence. The BS degree is done by directed independent study, and Juris Doctor and masters programs can be taken either through independent study or telecommunications. Telecommunications classes feature regular assignments and interaction with the faculty. They also have fixed start dates. Independent study programs have no fixed start dates or regular assignments, but also no weekly interaction with instructors. Independent study students are also not eligible for federal student loans, although they may still qualify for private loans or Taft University grants.
