Colleges for a Law Major

With the growing number of law school graduates entering the work force, choosing the best law school to attend will be a key to receiving job offers upon graduation. If an individual plans to relocate during his career, obtaining a degree from a nationally accredited school will be critical. While there are educational options for those who work full-time while attending school, job options outside of the state in which he graduated from will prove difficult.
  1. Yale Law School

    • Founded in the early 19th century, Yale Law School has become one of the most well known and respected schools in the country. With the educational background that enables a small class size and close relationships between students and teachers, Yale graduates are some of the most highly skilled graduates entering the workforce. Concord Law School

    • For those looking to explore their law school options while employed full time, Concord Law School is the first 100 percent online program. A part of Kaplan University, enrolling in Concord Law School's program allows prospective students to earn their degree part-time, from the comfort of their own home. However, a degree from Concord Law School will only allow one to sit for the California Bar exam and practice within the state, as the university is not yet accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA). Students can expect tuition of approximately $10,000 per year and to complete the program in four years.

    Nashville School of Law

    • Similar to Concord University in its options for students to attend law school while still employed full time, Nashville School of Law offers students who practice in the state of Tennessee the option to attend classes part-time in the evenings. The school was founded in the early 1900s as an option for those who want to pursue a career as an attorney but cannot afford to cut back on their work schedules. Since the school chooses to remain part-time, it will not be seeking accreditation from the ABA and thus graduates may only be licensed to practice in Tennessee. Tuition is approximately $20,000 for the program and although financial aid resources are minimal, students are allowed to pay for their degree in monthly installments.
