Law Colleges in North Carolina

Students interested in pursuing law degrees in the state of North Carolina have seven institutions from which to choose, ranging from the state’s flagship university (the University of North Carolina) to the independent Charlotte School of Law.
  1. Campbell University Wiggins School of Law

    • Located in the state capital of Raleigh, Campbell University’s Wiggins School of Law is North Carolina’s only Christian law school. The program seeks “to develop lawyers who possess moral conviction, social compassion, professional competence and who view the law as a personal calling to serve others and create a more just society.\"

    Charlotte School of Law

    • The only law school in the western part of the state, Charlotte School of Law focuses on practical, experiential preparation so that its graduates are fully ready for successful careers upon graduation. The Charlotte School of Law is an independent institution unaffiliated with any other college or university (including the Charlotte campus of the University of North Carolina).

    Duke University School of Law

    • Duke’s School of Law offers students the opportunity to earn dual degrees with several graduate programs. For example, students may pursue a dual J.D./M.A. or M.S. degree in a variety of Arts and Sciences fields, or they may pursue a J.D./M.S. in Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Computer Engineering. The School of Law also advertises dual J.D./Ph.D. programs in Philosophy or Political Science, as well as five dual professional degree programs.

    Elon University School of Law

    • Students at Elon University’s School of Law must elect to study in one of four concentrations: litigation, business, public interest or general practice. The law school also hosts a blog on which members of the school community may engage in thoughtful discussion about legal issues.

    North Carolina Central University School of Law

    • Originally founded to educate African-Americans, North Carolina Central University School of Law offers a joint J.D./M.L.S. program for students interested in pursuing degrees in law and library science, as well as a joint J.D./M.B.A. program. The School of Law also offers an academic support program to aid students in succeeding academically.

    Wake Forest University School of Law
