Analeigh Tipton from Cycle 11 of "Americas Next Top Model" and Justine Wachsberger from the 2009 film "New Moon" both attended the New York Film Academy. Students can attend a one- or two-year conservatory, earning an associate's degree in film acting. They also can choose to get a master of fine arts in film acting at the Los Angeles campus.

The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts has a two-year program that emphasizes the Meisner technique, a method of acting that emphasizes presence and spontaneity. Matthew Fox of "Lost" fame and Lauren Graham from "Gilmore Girls" attended the school. Students of the program have landed roles on sitcoms, soap operas, and commercials, according to its website.

According to the Vancouver Film School, its alumni have won Oscars, Emmys and Independent Spirit awards. Students enroll in a four-month Acting Essentials program before entering the full-time program. The emphasis of the full-time program is on cinematic naturalism and self discovery.

Some notable alumni include Grace Kelly, Adrien Brody, Robert Redford and Danny Devito. Prospective students must prepare two memorized monologues and go through an interview. There are campuses in New York and Los Angeles. Students who perform successfully in the first year are invited back for a second.
