Juilliard is located at the Lincoln Center for Performing Arts in New York City, and is arguably one of the top theater art schools in the world. Juilliard trains around 800 students in its various programs of study, some of which include Dance, Acting, and Music. Yale School of Drama is situated in the heart of New Haven, Connecticut, and is one of the top theater schools in America. The school offers courses in acting, directing, and playwriting among many others. Entry to the drama course is on the basis of an audition, along with several letters of recommendation and a CV. Notable alumni include actors such as Ed Norton, Chris Noth, Sigourney Weaver and Meryl Streep.
Tisch Institute of Performing Arts is located on Broadway in New York City. It is part of New York University, and offers a purely drama-based program of study. Admission is highly selective, and is based on all-round excellence and academia, as well as an audition. The deadline for applications each year are November 1 for early decisions through January 1 for regular decisions. Notable alumni include Angelina Jolie, Woody Allen, Alec Baldwin, Felicity Huffman, Marissa Tomei and Idina Menzel.
New York Film Academy has schools in New York, Los Angeles and Abu Dhabi. It offers programs in acting that cater both to beginners and actors with experience, and concentrates a lot of the program on training actors on camera. All faculty members are working professionals and have extensive experience in all aspects of theater arts. Admission is by application form and audition, and the application can be sent by mail.
