Schools of Interior Design in Northern California

A degree in interior design can lead you to a career as a designer, planner or draftsperson, among other things. Interior designers work in the commercial and private sector designing offices, homes, schools and other businesses. If you live in Northern California or are interested in attended an interior design program in this area, there are several options from which to choose, including associate's and bachelor's programs that take between two and four years.

    • International Academy of Design and Technology has a Northern California campus in Sacramento. It has associate's and bachelor's degree programs in interior design, both of which include computer-assisted design, drafting, space planning and business practices, among other subjects. The school's website boasts small class sizes and an in-depth knowledge of interior design fundamentals for its students. Sacramento is the capital of California and is approximately a one-hour drive from the greater San Francisco Bay Area.

    • The Academy of Art in San Francisco offers associate's, bachelor's and master's of art degree programs in interior design.
