Canadian Interior Design Schools

Interior designers use several different techniques to enhance the "function, safety and aesthetics of interior spaces," according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. If you are interested in pursuing a career as an interior designer, postsecondary education is often required for an entry-level position. Canada is home to several schools that offer programs in interior design.
  1. Vancouver College of Art & Design

    • The Vancouver College of Art & Design offers a diploma program in interior design. The program focuses on interior design of residential, commercial, industrial and public spaces. It gives students a basic introduction to design principles, color theory, space planning, drafting and industry-related computer software, according to the school's website. Students are required to create a portfolio at the end of the program; this allows students to have work to show to potential employers after graduation. Possible careers upon completion of the program include interior design, planning, project management and design consulting.
