Vanguard School of Interior Design is located just one block from Peachtree Towers. The school offers a 50-week certificate program in residential interior design as well as business courses designed to prepare students for owning their own design firm. Classes typically meet only once a week. Two field trips to local Atlanta homes are included in the program to give students an up-close look at the application of some of the principles discussed in class. The school accepts major credit cards and offers a payment plan. No other financial aid is available.

The school's Bachelor of Fine Arts in interior design program requires three years to complete. Students in the program study art and design history, architectural drafting, textiles, space planning, lighting, psychology mathematics and historic preservation. The school's Bachelor of Fine Arts in interior design program is one of the school's largest and highest-rated programs, according to \"Barron's Profiles of American Colleges.\" Required courses for the four-year program include communications, aesthetics, restoration, reconstruction, ethics, law and design and current issues in the field.
