Teaching can be a very rewarding career. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that the job market for teachers will continue to increase at a rate of about 13 percent through 2018. Teachers are needed at all grade levels and in all subject areas. Obtaining your degree in education is the first step to become a teacher.     • The University of Colorado at Boulder has a nationally recognized teaching program.     • The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS) also offers teaching programs at both the elementary and secondary education levels. The curriculum and instruction program is subdivided at both levels into different areas of concentration. At the elementary level, programs include biology, English, history, geography and Spanish. Secondary teaching programs include math, physics, Spanish, history, English, biology and chemistry. UCCS also offers an extensive array of graduate degrees.
