    • The University of Louisiana at Lafayette offers a Bachelor of Science degree in dental hygiene through an extension of the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry. Most of the courses in the program are taken in a distance-learning format from the LSU School of Dentistry.

      To complete the Bachelor of Science degree in dental hygiene, students must complete 61 credit hours before applying to the Upper Division of the program. To be accepted to the Upper Division of the dental hygiene program, a student must have an overall grade point average of at least 3.2 and must pass a personal interview. Annual tuition cost for Louisiana residents is $4,046, while the cost for non-residents is $12,618.

    University of Louisiana at Monroe

    • The University of Louisiana at Monroe offers a Bachelor of Science degree in dental hygiene upon completion of 126 credit hours in general education, math, sciences and dental hygiene. The university has a dental hygiene clinic and clinical classes are held at local dental offices and several health facilities in the Monroe area.
