Law Schools in Louisiana

A law degree can be used as a step to become a lawyer, to teach or to be hired by a corporation. Louisiana is unique in that it is rooted in the civil law tradition that dates back to the Napoleonic Code, however, courses are also taught in the Anglo-American common law tradition as well.

    • The Loyola University New Orleans College of Law is accredited by the American Bar Association and is located in New Orleans. The school offers a full-time day division program and a part-time evening division. Students who enroll in the full-time day division can choose to study common law or civil law, however, evening division students must enroll in the civil law program.
