The best nursing school in America is located at the University of Washington. According to most recent rankings by U.S. News & World Report, last published in 2007, the University of Washington's School of Nursing beat out all other schools for the top position. One of the reasons for the program's success is that nursing students have the advantage of working alongside the nation's best primary care medical professionals at the nation's top-rated primary care medical college, which only enhances nursing education. Degrees conferred through the school are the bachelor of science (BSN), an accelerated BSN (ABSN), a master of nursing (MN), and the master of science (MSN). Doctoral degrees offered are the PhD and the DNP (doctor of nursing Practice). The school also offers an additional Ph.D opportunity in statistics through the social science department.
