Founded in 1907, the University of San Francisco's division of nursing is dedicated to training students for work in research, education and clinical practice. The nursing program offers a master's of science, Ph.D and post-graduate studies. In addition, students can also enroll in special studies and enrichment programs in nursing. Areas of specialization in nursing include acute care, cardiovascular nursing, oncology, midwifery and prenatal nursing. The program gives students the option of selecting a minor in genomics, HIV/AIDS, health policy or psychiatric mental health nursing. Prospective students must hold a bachelor's degree in nursing. Applicants with a bachelor's degree in another discipline are welcome to enroll in the Master's Entry Program for pre-licensing in nursing.
