Vermont students looking to complete dental hygiene training in the state can attend the Dental Hygiene program at Vermont Technical College. Here, future hygienists attend classroom lectures in biology, nutrition and oral pathology, and also receive hands-on training in a clinical setting. Classes also cover preparation for the state's licensing exam, and Vermont Technical College boasts that in 2009, all of their dental hygiene graduates passed this exam. Students must complete a minimum of 72 credit hours to graduate with an associate's degree, and dental hygiene students must follow the sequence of courses laid out by college's curriculum. The college offers three scholarships to help defray the educational costs of students studying dental hygiene.
