Accredited Two Year Colleges in Pennsylvania

There are 24 accredited two-year colleges in the Keystone State (nearly all are accredited through the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools), and many are affiliated with the Pennsylvania Commission for Community Colleges and the Pennsylvania Association of Colleges & Universities. Most of these colleges offer flexible course schedules and workforce training. The state's two-year schools include community colleges, a junior military college and a satellite campus for the University of Pittsburgh.
  1. Community College of Allegheny County

    • With 63,000 credit and non-credit students, this community college is the largest educational provider in western Pennsylvania and the 16th largest community college in the U.S. The expansive main campus is located in downtown Pittsburgh next to Allegheny Commons Park and the city's two professional sports stadiums. The institution offers 170 programs, including nursing, radiation technology, electrical science and programs for those with learning and physical disabilities.

    Community College of Philadelphia

    • The Community College of Philadelphia, the city's largest institute of public higher education, has a student population of about 35,000 students in its downtown main campus, three regional centers and dozens of neighborhood sites around the city. The college offers 70 programs in business, social and behavioral sciences, health, humanities, science and technology.

    Valley Forge Military College

    • This school is one of only five junior military colleges in the U.S. The college enrolls about 220 cadets in a full schedule of academics, leadership training, sports and character development. Most graduates pursue military careers, continue to four-year service academies or go on to regular four-year schools. The college, which also includes an all-male college preparatory school, is located in Wayne, a suburb about 30 minutes northwest of downtown Philadelphia.

    Northampton Community College

    • Northampton Community College's main campus is located in the northern reaches of the city of Bethlehem, Penn. The school hosts about 35,000 students at its central campus, a Tannersville branch campus and more 50 satellite sites. The school's most popular majors include criminal justice, early childhood education and business administration.
