Brevard Community College was founded in 1960. As of 2009, it had about 14,600 undergraduates. Students can work toward Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degrees in three different fields, Associate in Science (AS) degrees in 22 different fields, Applied Technology Diplomas (ATD) in three different fields, College Credit Certificates (CCC) in 37 different fields, or Postsecondary Adult Vocational Certificates (PSAV) in 21 different fields.

The Florida Keys Community College was founded in 1965. The college offers 20 associate degree and certificate programs. Students can take advantage of the college's location in the Keys with its specialized programs in marine engineering, marine environmental technology, marine propulsion, diving business and technology. The college's School of Diving offers extensive facilities for the study of commercial diving, research diving, hyperbaric medicine, public safety diving and underwater photography.
