Citizens Medical Center School of Radiologic Technology is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JCERT). Tuition is $1,000 for the program and includes all coursework and books. Students are not compensated for their clinical work and federally-secured loans are not available through the program.
Applicants must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent, be 18 years old at the time of admission, have completed one algebra course, one human anatomy or biology course and one college medical terminology course. They must also have three credits received from a college communications course and nine credits from other general education classes, which can be taken at Victoria College.
Students applying for graduation from the program must earn at least a "C" average. Students also must complete clinical study during which they will be assigned to rotations in various departments at Citizens Medical Center. Clinical study focuses on diagnostic radiology. Students must meet standards of the ASRT to pass clinical study. That includes maintaining a minimum grade of 85 percent. The ASRT has mandated that radiologists must have at least an associate degree as of 2015. Students can fulfill that requirement through the school's articulation program with Victoria College.
