Graduates of the radiography program at Ferris State University receive an Associate in Applied Science and are ready for employment in hospital, clinic and medical office settings. Students must complete a minimum of 81 semester hours throughout the two-year program. Students become well versed in the fundamentals of radiologic procedures through a comprehensive curriculum that includes courses in radiologic pathology, pharmacology for radiography and radiographic protection. Clinical practica begin in the second semester and continue throughout the program to provide students with maximum clinical experience. This program accepts only 50 students each year and therefore students must possess a competitive grade point average in prerequisite courses including chemistry, biology and physiology.

The Associate in Applied Science in radiologic technology program at Lake Michigan College begins in the fall semester each year and runs consecutively for 21 months. The six-semester curriculum provides full-time coursework and clinical education to prepare students for entry-level employment upon completion of the program. Courses include radiographic physics, radiographic biology, contrast studies and more. Under the supervision of experienced educators and staff, students gain clinical experience in surrounding hospital and clinic facilities such as Lee Memorial Hospital and Bronson Advanced Radiology Services. Admission to this program is competitive and prospective students must complete a number of college-level general education prerequisite courses including anatomy, biology, chemistry and introductory psychology.

Washtenaw Community College offers an associate degree in radiologic technology. The two-year program carries accreditation by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology and prepares students for the American Registry of Radiologic Technology certification examination. The program requires the completion of at least 72 credits of general education and core courses, including health care terminology, pharmacology in diagnostic imaging and radiographic positioning. Beginning in the second semester, students also participate in clinical placements to apply and perfect newly learned skills and techniques. The program offers a limited number of seats each year and applicants must have a high school diploma and complete certain prerequisite college courses including anatomy and physiology and introduction to diagnostic imaging.
