Bible Colleges in New York City

Finding the right college is overwhelming enough. A student who wishes to remain true to his biblical views and aspirations doesn't have to compromise his faith. There are numerous Bible colleges in New York with a variety of curricula. Some Bible colleges in New York offer students the opportunity to attend college before leaving high school. For example, Davis College allows high school seniors to attend their first year of college simultaneously.

  1. Word of Life Bible Institute

    • The Word of Life Bible Institute is a Bible college in Pottersville, New York, and an affiliate of the Word of Life Fellowship. Admissions requirements for the Bible college include that the student must be at least 17 years old, a high school graduate or have passed the General Educational Development (GED) test. Students also must sign the Word of Life's Statement of Faith agreement and give an account of having been born again on the admissions application. The Word of Life Bible Institute is accredited by the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools. The institution offers students one-year Bible programs, and a two-year diploma with concentrations on youth, missions or the local church.

    Elim Bible Institute

    • The Elim Bible Institute is in Lima, New York, approximately 30 miles south of Rochester. It was founded in 1924 by then-Pentecostal preacher Ivan Q. Spencer of the Elim Fellowship. The Elim Bible Institute requires students before admission to sign a personal statement of the student’s beliefs, send in high school transcripts, fill out an application and list three character references. According to the Elim Bible Institute, the school is a non-degree granting Bible college. However, it does offer students three-year diplomas in Bible with minors in music, ministry, youth ministry and missions.

    Davis College

    • Davis College, formerly known as Practical Bible College, is in Johnson City, New York, and is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. According to Davis College, students can attend their first year of college and complete their high school requirements through the college’s online courses at the same time. Davis College offers students certificates in Bible and teaching English as a second language. It also offers associate's degrees in applied science and early childhood education administration, and bachelor's programs in counseling, Christian ministries, international ministries, pastoral studies, teaching English as a second language and youth ministries.
