Founded in 1851, Santa Clara University is the oldest higher learning institution in the Western United States and has been offering accounting since 1923. Both major programs prepare students for professional examinations necessary to become either a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA). Students must fulfill the core curriculum requirements of both the university and the College of Business. SCU students also have the chance to study abroad for a semester in their junior year and still graduate in four years.
