The fields of accounting and finance are the fundamental ways companies track the state of their business. Students who major in finance learn how money works at both the personal and corporate levels.     • The top-ranked accounting school in the 2010 U.S. News & World Report rankings is the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. The university offers a bachelor's degree in accounting, a master's of accountancy, a master's of public accountancy and a doctorate program in accounting.     • The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania has highly regarded programs in finance and accounting. Its finance program is No. 1 in the 2010 U.S. News & World Report rankings, and its accounting program is ranked second in the nation. The school offers programs in accounting and in finance business and public policy at the bachelor's, MBA and doctoral levels. MBA accounting students can specialize in financial accounting or international accounting and financial reporting.

    Brigham Young University

    • Brigham Young University is a private university in Provo, Utah, that is owned an operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Its Marriott School of Management has established itself as one of the top business schools in the country, always in the top 10 in national rankings. BYU is best known for its accounting program. The Marriott School is No. 9 in the 2010 U.S. News & World Report rankings for top accounting schools.     • The University of Chicago's Booth School of Business is another school that ranks high in both accounting and finance. Its finance program sits at No. 2 in the 2010 U.S. News & World Report ratings, and its accounting school ranks third. Booth is a graduate school that offers MBA programs in accounting and finance. The school also offers a weekend MBA, an evening MBA and an executive MBA program for working professionals. It has satellite campuses in Singapore and London.
