      Brown College in Mendota Heights, Minnesota is a technical school of higher learning that specializes in broadcasting, design, information technology, business management and criminal justice. The school offers an Associate in Applied Science degree in Radio Broadcasting. The college has trained radio professionals for more than sixty years and offers a variety of concentrations. Students can study audio production, on-air broadcasting, newscasting, sports play-by-play, media sales and program production. They get hand-on experience at The VBS (The Voice of Brown), the college's radio station. A full-time student can complete the program in six quarters, or eighteen months.

      Ohlone College is a large community college in Fremont, California. The college, which is focused on diversity, prepares students to transfer to four-year institutions and trains students to enter the workforce in a variety of technical and applied areas of expertise. Broadcasting is just one of the college's two-year programs. Broadcasting students at Ohlone earn an Associate of Arts' degree upon completion of the curriculum, and the coursework is designed to help students enter the broadcasting profession when they graduate. Students learn all aspects of broadcasting and the latest technology at the college's KOHL Radio Station 89.3. There is no substitute for this hands-on experience, which prepares them for employment in the radio broadcasting profession.

      Lewis & Clark Community in Godfrey, Illinois, is a large community college in the St. Louis metropolitan area. With 13,000 degree-seeking students, Lewis & Clark offers a variety of academic transfer programs as well as a variety of technical degrees. The award-winning campus radio station WLCA 89.9 FM serves as the laboratory for radio broadcasting students at Lewis & Clark. The curriculum for them is practiced at the station, which prepares students to step into the profession upon graduation. A sixteen-week internship is required for the Associate's in Applied Science degree.
