Schools That Offer Accounting Certificates in California

The California Employment Development Department predicts that the demand for bookkeeping and accounting clerks will increase by 15 percent from 2006 through 2016. Although a bachelor's degree is typically not necessary for these entry-level positions, having some type of postsecondary education increases an applicant's likelihood of finding employment. A number of public colleges in California offer short certificate courses that teach accounting fundamentals to prepare students for positions as accounting-related clerks.
