The Wharton School's accounting program at the University of Pennsylvania was ranked No. 2 overall by "U.S. News and World Report" in 2010. The Ivy League school offers a Bachelor of Science, Master of Business Administration and Ph.D in Accounting. The Stern School of Business at New York University offers two undergraduate degree programs in accounting, one of which focuses on the Certified Public Accountant qualification. The university also offers a MBA with a major or double major in accounting, and a Ph.D program. Other universities in the Northeast that offer accounting courses include Boston University, Georgetown University, St. John's University, Syracuse University and Temple University.
The Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan offers a Master of Accounting program. The university's Department of Accounting also offers courses toward the university's BBA, MBA, Global MBA and Executive Education programs. The College of Business at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign offers multiple bachelor's and master's degree programs in accountancy, as well as a Ph.D program. Other universities in the Midwest that feature accounting programs include Indiana University, Iowa State University, the University of Kansas, Michigan State University, the University of Missouri and Purdue University.
The University of Texas, Austin, boasts the top-ranked accounting program in the United States, according to the 2010 "U.S. News and World Report" survey. The Leventhal School of Accounting at the University of Southern California offers three undergraduate degree program tracks in accounting, and students can earn a Master of Accounting degree from the Marshall School of Business. Stanford University's Graduate School of Business offers accounting courses as part of its MBA and Sloan Master's programs in addition to a Ph.D in Accounting. Other universities in the West that offer majors in accounting include Arizona State University, Brigham Young University, Colorado State University, Oregon State University, San Diego State University and Santa Clara University in California.
