Colleges in Bucks County, Pennsylvania

According to Bucks County's website, the county consists of 608 square miles of land, about 16 square miles of water, 23 boroughs and 31 townships. Because of its size, students have many choices when considering a college within the county's limits. Bucks County offers potential students the chance to choose between community colleges, religious colleges or universities.

    • Bucks County Community College (BCCC) system was founded in 1964. One of its founding principals was to acknowledge and expand on the public two-year colleges in the country, which were growing in importance and recognition. BCCC offers two-year associate degrees, certificates and a general education foundation for those wanting to transfer to four-year colleges and universities both inside and outside of Pennsylvania, according to the school's website. BCCC is proud of its small class size and personal attention allotted to students. BCCC consists of three campuses: Newtown, Lower Bucks and Upper Bucks.

    Delaware Valley College

    • Delaware Valley College is a four-year college offering students bachelor's degrees, pre-professional programs, continuing education and associate degrees. The following are master's degree programs: Master of Science in Educational Leadership, Master of Business in Administration in Food and Agribusiness, Master of Business Administration in Accounting and Master of Business Administration in General Business, according to the school's website.     • Holy Family University is a four-year university founded in 1954 by the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, according to the university's website. The school offers more than 45 degree programs, with about half of the 3,500 student population enrolled in undergraduate work. Graduate and accelerated degree programs are also available.     La Salle University-Bucks County Center

    • The La Salle University in Bucks County is located in Newtown. The main campus is in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. According to the La Salle website, the purpose of the Newtown location is to "meet the educational needs of the adult learners whose work and/or family obligations make full-time day attendance an impossibility." The same programs that are offered in the main campus are also offered in the Bucks County Center; they include the RN/BSN Nursing program, undergraduate, graduate, professional and on-line career training courses.
