A private institution, the South Hills School of Business and Technology has four branches, including locations in the Centre County communities of State College and Philipsburg. The college grants associate degrees in business administration, information technology, engineering, sonography, medical office technology, health information technology, criminal justice, legal assisting and graphic arts. Most programs feature an internship or hands-on training in the field on the college's campuses in one of its many laboratories that simulate actual workplaces. Eligible students can receive federal and state loans and grants, veteran's benefits and institutional scholarships while attending the school. Job placement assistance is available for all students.

Established in 1876, Juniata College is a private college in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, about 27 miles from Centre County (approximately 30 minutes by automobile).
