List of Community Colleges in Washington State

Washington features 34 community and technical colleges located across the state from the northwestern corner in Bellingham to the southeastern corner in Walla Walla and serving over 471,000 students, according to the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (CTC). In the greater Seattle area, between Everett and Tacoma, 18 schools offer students diverse programs of study for immediate employment or to continue on to complete a bachelor's degree at a 4-year university.
  1. Cascadia Community College

    • Cascadia is located on Seattle's eastside in Bothell.

      Cascadia Community College ranks second on Washington Monthly's list of "America's Best Community Colleges" from 2007 based on academic challenge and support for learners. Located east of Seattle in Bothell, Cascadia shares a campus with a branch of the University of Washington and students have access to the university's library systems and advanced technology. Cascadia offers programs of study to earn one of eight associate degrees in science, prenursing, integrated studies, business and elementary education. On-campus housing is not available at Cascadia, but 1,800 parking spaces are available for approximately 1,300 students and Bothell is centrally located for students living in the Seattle, Kirkland or Bellevue areas.

    Big Bend Community College

    • Big Bend CC features an aviation program for commercial pilots.

      Big Bend Community College (BBCC) is located in central Washington's Columbia Basin and offers students 34 programs of study on a campus with 25 buildings. Campus housing is available in residence halls and BBCC features five athletic teams, 10 student clubs and close proximity to Moses Lake's parks and lake access. Programs of study at BBCC include aviation for commercial pilots, family literacy, economics, welding, psychology and commercial truck driving for eight associate degrees or certificates of achievement and accomplishment.

    Olympic College

    • Olympic College's campuses are located in Kitsap and Mason Counties.

      Olympic College offers community college classes on three campuses on the Kitsap Peninsula, located west of Seattle. Over 12,000 students attend Olympic College between the ages of 16 and 65, according to the college's website, and the school partners with a nearby naval base to offer military education and training. Students earn associate degrees in general studies, arts, science or applied science or a variety of professional and technical degrees and certificates in areas such as automotive technology, accounting, industrial trades and computer information systems. Olympic College Bremerton is located on 33 acres near the water in the downtown district and apartments are available within two blocks of campus. The Poulsbo campus of Olympic College features 20 acres of classrooms and buildings conveniently located for students from Bainbridge Island and the northern Kitsap Peninsula. Olympic College Shelton is located on 27 acres at the southwestern tip of Puget Sound near Olympia and serves students from the surrounding areas of Mason County.
