South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) occupies a 101-acre wooded campus in Olympia, Washington. The college's enrollment is around 7,000 students per quarter. Tacoma Community College (TCC) is in the city of Tacoma, less than 30 miles northeast of Olympia. According to TCC, more than 40 study areas and 60 professional and technical degrees are offered at its campus. Around 15,000 students enroll at TCC per year, with nearly 400 of these being international students. Community partnership is very important at TCC, as more than 140 local business professionals participate on advisory committees for school programs such as accounting, allied health, logistics, and para-education. This ensures that programs remain relevant, and are credited as being a big reason that TCC students achieve 86 percent placement in their chosen fields, claims the school.
