Nestled in the Blue Ridge mountains, Asheville-Buncombe Tech offers programs in Allied Health and Public Service; Art and Sciences; Business and Hospitality; and Engineering and Applied Technology. This college is unusual: If a student has an interest, but no course matches it, Asheville-Buncombe allows him or her to complete an Independent Study under the guidance of a faculty member, with the approval of the department chair. Minimester courses lasting eight weeks are offered twice per fall and spring semester. Courses range from basic studies to program specific: Expository Writing, Manicures, Elementary Spanish and Introductions to Computers.
