Located on the East Coast, Elizabeth City State University's aviation program specializes in aeronautics, aviation, aerospace science and technology. ECSU claims its location is prime for students wishing to pursue a career in aviation and aerospace because of its "proximity to the many large and small businesses, manufacturers, military installations, and government agencies that are integrally involved with aviation and aerospace." ECSU boasts seven aviation minor programs, including aviation management, electronics, flight education and space science. As of 2010, the university is attempting to develop an air traffic control minor as well.
